So today I was at the park with two friends, sitting at a picnic table just talking, when all of sudden i turn around to see a couple of 14 year olds fighting and pushing a kid down. My first instinct was to tell them to stop which is what i did, i was yelling hey dont do that, that's not nice, but then one of my friends put her hand on my mouth and told me to be quiet because they would beat me up. My first thought was i would rather be beaten up then some child and then i started thinking why should I be silent, it takes more strength, intelligence and bravery to stand up for what's right then it is to throw a punch. There were about 10 of those kids, and then plus 2 including my friends and perhaps another 20 adults and children playing in the park close by, not one person said something, except me. Which I find is disgusting, no one deserves to be pushed around, no one has the right to push someone and no one should be silent. If you don't stand up, if you don't at least try people start thinking that they can get away with that, and that it is okay to do. honestly i tell you now, "stand up for what's right even if you're standing alone" because there is nothing worse the regretting the chance you could have taken to help a fellow human, instead of being a coward, and or selfish.

i'm glad you stood up for what was right. there were a few times when i didn't and i always regret it. those kids thought they would get away because no one usually intervenes when such thigns happen. and that's the reason why they happen in the first place. brazen attacks take place because everyone knows that no one would interfere. well, bravo, you did a great thing. and i'm proud of you.
